Agent setup

Install the CLI for the agent you want, sign in, done.

BuddyOS launches the agent CLIs installed on your PC as-is. You provide each vendor's account / API yourself.

Basic flow

  1. Install the CLI for the agent you want (e.g. Claude Code, Codex) on your PC.
  2. Sign in to the vendor's account or set an API key in that CLI.
  3. Launch BuddyOS (the Bridge) — available agents are detected automatically.
  4. Pick the agent you want from the agent switcher in the iPhone app.

Agents that aren't installed or signed in appear greyed out and can't be selected. Once installed and signed in, they become selectable.

Runtime (Windows)

On Windows, you can choose whether each agent runs in the native environment or under WSL. Pick the runtime from BuddyOS desktop settings (onboarding / status).

Switching & settings

  • Switch between multiple agents within a single app.
  • Claude Code supports switching model (Opus / Sonnet / Haiku), effort, and mode.
  • Skills, MCP, and slash commands are supported (agent-dependent).
